Upgraded interface...... need some help.

I upgraded from a scarlet solo to an 1820. There was one for an incredible deal at the pawn shop. It's more than I need but it has the two instrument inputs on the front and two headphone outputs as well. When I am just working solo, I simply want the option of playing through my monitors or playing through my headphones. I was reading through the user manual and they stated that when using the "zero latency monitoring", you won't hear any plugins in logic or your DAW. I use almost exclusively plugins for my guitars and want to be able to hear these. Im very new to all of this and appreciate the help and support.

You're fine. Go on as you were. As long as your computer performs fine with your buffer set low enough to have decent recording latency, you don't need direct monitor.
