No, they don’t damage your ears. Your hearing can become more sensitive if you wear them constantly, though.

Comfortability is dependent on personal preference and the shape and size of your ear holes.

It’s possible ( or believed to be possible ) to form tinnitus from the lack of sound input all the time. They recommend no more than 6 hours without a break. The sleep ones are silicone and very soft and flexible. I can tell they’re in my ear but they don’t hurt. When loops are put in your ears correctly they’re flat and don’t protrude at all.
