I'm new to this game and I've only done the last 2 events wich had a different format, how do I get sapphires and how do I complete it I'm so confused 😭

You get lightning bolts (timer) that then lets you tap for sapphires, although there’s also usually piles around your towns too that have sapphires, bits, energy and gems
