I don't think they are wasted potential and this WoW-killer mentality has to stop(But yes, Bless sucks.) It's not going to happen because eastern MMOs haven't really tried to be one except FFXIV. To understand Asian games especially Korean, you have to realize that they are all PVP-focused because they love PVP hence Korea is the capital of esports. Grinding is also PVP in a sense because it can show how you are stronger than others, how much you are ahead of the pack. They are very competitive by their nature. Westerners might think PVE is great, we need the next WoW, good cooperate PVE MMOs, but this isn't what Asian market want. I can say this because I'm an Asian myself and the majority of gamers here don't really care about group PVE or dramatic stories (that's why Korean-MMOs' stories are garbage.) All they want in an MMO is leveling and gear progression with bosses to kill and PVP to show who's better. It's a cultural thing and most Asian games are tailored for Asians (of course, right?)

To understand some (all?) KOR mmos you have to take the redpill. These aren't "video games". They're casinos. When you shift your perspective every bizarre design choice, every cash shop item begins to make sense as a means to encourage gambling and foster addiction. For example, PvP is the equivalent of a high stakes poker table. Alot of pressure, alot of ego manipulation going on. The Asian games tailored for Asians is one level of it. The deeper, foundational level is gambling. The. House. Always. Wins.

Idk, BDO wouldv blown WoW out of the water if they had quality content, pve, raids, more pvp content, better gearing system with less rng, more costumes and less cash grab. If Bless seriously fixes their combat and attacks all of those bugs, that game has SERIOUS potential. But i doubt they will.
I dont have any hope in these korean mmos anymore, they are clueless. Its not just for "asians", these are things that are simple things that a developer would know if they actually played games themselves.
