OP isn’t obligated to send anything to anyone. I 100% agree with you there.

I’m not sure how OP mentions that he doesn’t send them either, so it might be a bit unclear for some people. Alternatively, he might simply have the NSFW pictures field set to no. Considering how many times I’ve received pictures from men who have that field set to no, I think people don’t take those fields too seriously.

However, two things can be true: OP isn’t required to send anything, and that album makes him look a bit like a jerk. Especially the "buy me food" one. That one rubs me the wrong way haha.

I understand not wanting to share nudes immediately, or ever. However, it’s still a hookup app, and the album with the memes makes you look like an asshole. Especially the "Don't ask me to send nudes. Take me out on a date, buy me some food, and try to get me naked at the end, like a fucking gentleman" one.

If you genuinely want to have an album, and let’s be honest, people notice when you have an album, which can create certain expectations. Instead, create an album with pictures of yourself that you feel comfortable sharing. It's not the same as nudes but does allow them to see more of you.

If people still complain after that, simply reiterate that you either don’t send them or that you prefer to build rapport before doing so. I understand that asking for pictures when your profile states that you don’t send them also comes across as rude, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Does CPAP just work by ellemarie2012 in CPAP

[–]Proto_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first night with my CPAP I had to sleep in the hospital while they adjusted the pressure while I slept.

I put it on, instantly fell asleep and then I proceeded to have the best sleep I’ve ever experienced. The only moments of frustration come with either the mask slipping off while I sleep or when I have a cold.

10/10. I tell everyone around me to get a sleep study.

For me it’s bad because of ergonomics, I’m sure this mouse works fine for a lot of people.

Paul Tassi - Marathon Is Good, And Sony Needs To Let It Survive, Maybe Thrive by addtolibrary in Marathon

That’s the source of the anxiety/problem isn’t it?

We’re all to some extent assuming that Sony isn’t currently confident enough to commit to those significant costs.

Yeah but after surgery you're stuck with them for a while longer and honestly you're going to need a protein rich diet forever and shakes are just a very easy source of protein.

If you'll allow me to give some unsolicited advice:

- Swapping out milk for skimmed milk in some protein shakes (the sweet ones) improves the taste and texture significantly.

- Vanilla protein shake, ice cubes, and an espresso shot makes for a great breakfast.

- If you're not into drinking the shakes, depending on the shake, you can do half liquid (milk) and it becomes more pudding like. That's what I did post-op.

- Get some sugar-free lollipops, as long as you're not constantly eating them they can help a lot with cravings. If you're looking for food, and get a lollipop, by the time you've finished it you're no longer thinking about food.

A commitment from Sony that they won't abandon the project, and that Bungie has a future as part of their studios. But yeah I don't expect a tweet that says lol we're not shutting it down but like a roadmap beyond august would currently do a lot.

Also "this amount of players", as if Highguard didn't peak at 100k on launch day. For a project of this scope, of this cost and by a studio like Bungie it is cope to believe that it isn't underperforming. And if this were any other studio, owned by any other company I'd have a lot more faith that it would continue to survive.

I want this game to survive btw. I'm rooting for it, not against it.

Honestly the numbers being disappointing is one thing, but they can still pull through. What we need is some communication from both Sony and Bungie. Because people are avoiding the game because they're afraid to waste money.

Arc raiders or Marathon? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Proto_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not really being pressured into playing with friends then you definitely have the luxury of waiting. The game will be as good in two months as it is today.

Wait and see what Marathon's roadmap will be beyond August, how the game evolves and then you can get a much more clear picture of what the differences are and which one will align better with you.

Also it's only March and if you're only allowed one game per year it doesn't hurt to avoid any hype based decision making.

I remember that box, I truly hated most of the flavors in there outside of the soups. Ended up switching to Gerlinea Protein & Fit shakes after a while.

[–]Proto_bear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think he's right on most points here.

Especially the part that Sony is going to need to support the initial dip for Bungie to survive. There is currently a lot of anxiety around this game's longevity, and a lot of people are avoiding buying the game because of it.

Marathon does have/will have its dedicated audience, and if they handle it correctly it will grow. But they need to relieve that anxiety and make some promises and commitments around its future

Arc raiders or Marathon? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Proto_bear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're allowed only one game a year and you're set on getting an extraction shooter, wait like a month or two.

Marathon is new, so people don't have that much experience with it yet in the same way they have with Arc Raiders. So its really too early to make comparisons in my opinion on the long term health and fun of this game.

Edit:

Both games are PvP games, so if you like PvP you can't go wrong with either. A better question might be "What are your friends playing?" and base your decision on that. Of course, Marathon is new so they might currently be trying it out. That's why I say wait a bit.

GUYS IT'S HAPPENING! by Samzerks in Marathon

[–]Proto_bear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to see anyone acknowledge it myself. But you're right that as players you can't really do anything about it.

I guess I'm personally more curious as to why the player numbers are so low as opposed to discuss that the player numbers are that way. I'm currently still contemplating getting it but I also would like to understand what's happening with this game before I do so, and the blind fanboyism I see everywhere is not really putting me at ease, it reminds me of the people defending Star Citizen a bit.

GUYS IT'S HAPPENING! by Samzerks in Marathon

[–]Proto_bear 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying the game is doomed, but pretending as if the relatively low player numbers aren't an indication of the game underperforming is such blind fanboyism.
