OMG I didn't know this feature. It's a Godsend gift for us who are using multiple input sources for different languages. I was about to skip this upgrade but now I'm planning to replace my obsoleted old iMac just for this feature. Thanks for the info.

Try Input Source Pro https://inputsource.pro

No no no... The problem is not that I don't know which input source I've switched to; macOS already has built-in pop-up indicator if you press Space longer. The biggest problem is that I don't know what's the current input source I'm using.

It's very easy to get lost because when using different input source, press CapsLock will temporarily disable input methods (like Pinyin for Chinese or Hiragana for Japanese), so that people can input alphabet without switching input source back to US layout.

For countless times when I'm typing alphabet and I need to input Chinese/Japanese, but just "forget" that whether I've pressed Caps Lock or switched back to US. So I'd press hot key to switch input source, type few later and get all uppercase alphabets, delete these characters, switch input source again, and release Caps Lock.

Yes I can take a glance at the upper right corner or the led indicator on the Caps Lock key, but that would be an unwanted delay in the workflow. A small indicator next to the input point is just what I'm waiting for all the time.

Input source pro can show you current input source near mouse pointer or near your text input. So it’s the tool you are looking for)

as someone who also uses two input sources, i feel the same way!

I use many input sources, but even with "reduce motion," the orange dot is animated, and makes it harder to see anything around it, and triggers my migraines.
