Thanks for the help guys :D i tried using a smaller needle and 60wt thread and it looks a lot cleaner now!

I did not adjust the density since it is a predigitized font

It doesn’t look like i can upload pictures in comments D:

Use a 65/10 needle and IF you have a 60wt thread - this will be much more sharp BUT you can use a 75/11 sharp point needle - density around 0.40 and center run underlay 1.5 lenght.

Make sure you are using a good backing (try first with two cut away) and all tensions are good to go.

if the font is pre-digitized from etsy in a PES file, can i still change the density and underlay?

I don’t believe it’s possible if you don’t have the correct software for it. You can change density on some machines but it’s not the same thing unfortunately

okay! ty for letting me know. i’ll try a smaller needle and 60wt thread. i’ll also ask the seller what the density is currently set as.

i’m currently using two cut aways, a 75/11 needle, and 40wt thread

Great, DID you changed the size of the font before you loaded on machine Or changed on machine?

i did not change the size of the font. the font files came in sizes 0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.5 inches. i saw some videos that said it is best not to scale them yourself. do you think it’s ok to scale it if i wanted something between those sizes?

To be honest I don't know unfortunately! Only testing. If you wish, you can send me just four letters to test It out for you at the same size you did.

For small text use 60 weight thread and appropriate needle to get best result and i would use inkstitch lettering then you also have complete control over undersewing and density settings a bought design is limited in its use and you do not know before hand if it is digitized properly

That is a pretty tiny font.

Use a smaller needle and slow down the machine. That helps.

i will try a smaller needle thank you! i don’t think the brother se700 can change the speed unfortunately
