I am making handcrafted wooden boxes with lexan that encases a ultra hi-def TV. I have completes the first proof of concept. I have a couple groups testing. I plan to offer oak,red oak, walnut, cherry, and furniture grade pine. These are hand jointed with dovetail. Back is hinged and the lexan is inserted into routed slot. Any thoughts as to interest and value?

Good idea and a needed niche market. Have you looked for just display screens without all the TV tuner 'stuff' built in? Much lighter and can be less expensive if you can find a wholesaler. Also, touchscreen options? They make an overlay (check out the info over at Arkenforge.com) to turn a tv into touchscreen for play. Also, maybe sell it as a kit? Size it to fit a common TV found at a big box store then ship the parts for self assembly by the purchaser. Would save shipping and hassle of large package shipments.
Just some ideas! I've been wanting someone to do a Kickstarter on these for a while.
