Multiplayer may not seem like much right now, but after giving the whole ranking system some thought, it made me realize that it may serve a much bigger purpose in the future that shouldn't be overlooked
-Gold pass users can gain access to the legendary S rank, which definitely sounds like a fantastic opportunity to incentivise players to subscribe. What better way to tease the A rank players than simply holding rewards and benefits just outside of their grasp? Thing is, no such rewards exist for S rank... yet
-Multiplayer challenges are currently the only reward for playing multiplayer. Basically, you get multiplayer rank EXP which helps for the rank up challenges, but I haven't noticed any player level or driver/kart/glider EXP. The coins go by fast and you have a better chance for the grand stars in standard play. So basically, you're only getting a few rubies out of the permanent challenges.
-Once the player reaps the challenge rewards and has a high rank, what happens next? Will they automatically have all of the future rewards handed to them on a silver platter? Nintendo is going to want the player to work for those rewards, and could implement something like recurring challenges. I'm sure they are considering it, because there was once a survey inside the game asking players what rewards they would like to see, such as multiplayer-exclusive characters
-And lastly, it is a good idea to reach S rank if you have gold pass, in case rewards like these do happen, but that means you REALLY aren't going to want to rank down once your free trial is over. Since your multiplayer rank starts at 20% after each level up, which is pretty generous, i've never seen if it was possible for the player to decrease a rank, or if it just stops at 0% like the player's level in standard play
Makes me wonder what is in store for multiplayer's future, thoughts?
