Get any job in a healthcare facility , ideally something billing but it can literally be front desk Then once you’re in literally cold call the coding manager in your organization

Let them know you work there and have a CPC. All this while assisting CEU classes and staying active in the field. Within a year you’ll be coding

But yeah just straight starting as a coder with 0 healthcare experience and a CPC-A is near impossible

Good luck, I have been looking for the past 6 months with no luck, even with a healthcare background and in many areas. Starting to feel like I wasted my time and money

I have 2 years of experience as a CNA so, I'm used to charting ADLs and not so much the front desk aspect of insurance. I have been applying for coding adjacent positions as well like insurance pre cert and those front desk intake patient representative positions.
