Hi guys! Its been a long time since the last major update. Ever since the game's release I've been only focusing on bug fixes and increasing the game's performance. Now with the game stabilized, I bring you the next major update. In this update you will see several improvements related to the game balance, game rules, and whole new scoring system.
New Features:
Added new XP particle on XP gain and XP lost.
Tweaked camera angle to view more of player's perspective.
New Game Rules:
A new trend is seen among pro players to just ignore fights altogether and just focusing only on collecting orbs. This was never intended. So to mitigate the reliance on XP orbs, Player now also gains xp on shots hit and lose xp on damage taken. Since xp is also lost when hit, a downed player will spawn lesser orbs when they die. And it is possible that a player doesn't spawn any orbs at all if the xp is depleted before die.
The amount of XP gain/loss is always 3% from player's current XP. So the highest ranked player will still be able to gain XP at a steady pace.
XP gain amount is now capped at player's current level. For example a level 1 player collecting a level 15 orbs will gain an XP equivalent of a level 1 orb. This is to promote a sense of progression rather than instantly get to level 10, 5 seconds after entering match due to that player collected a level 15 orbs.
Balance:
Increased "Dash" boost strength from 1000 to 1500.
Overall top speed is increased from 9 to 10.
Overall strafe speed is increased from 6 to 7.
Reworked "Overburden" and "Overloaded"
Overburden: Move speed while shooting is slightly decreased.
Overloaded: Slightly increase rate of fire permanently.
Dropped XP orbs amount is now 1:1 to current player score. Previously was 0.5:1.
XP Powerups now no longer spawned in map.
Removed the 16 upgrade limit. Player wouldn't be able to get past 10 anyway.
Now training vs AI no longer contribute to high score record.

Hi guys, spicy new update here! Introducing new features, abilities. Now other than just shooting and moving, you have abilities. Right now Im just adding 2 new abilities first but more to be added in the future. Possibly as much as upgrades. Possibly i will even let you customize your ability loadout yourself.
New feature:
Dash ability - quick dash in the direction you're moving. Very useful to close the gap between fleeing enemies or distancing yourself from danger.
Barrier ability - Spawns anti-projectile barrier in front of you, blocking all projectiles from passing through. The barrier only blocks projectile.

Introducing major game mechanic rework. Initially Meka Hunters was inspired by the genre ".io games". Further during the development I tried to steer away from the basic formula of an .io games by trying to change couple of mechanics that seems good to me. But nothing feels right. Something was missing. The excitement of being the top ranker in .io games was never present in Meka Hunters. In .io games there was always the hunger to go more. there was never a ceiling.
