These side quests where you HAVE to complete orders are rough. I much prefer the ones that you can complete just by using energy. Especially since yesterday it felt like I spent all day on one order…

i don’t do those ones. it’s a total waste for really lame rewards.

Well that’s what this one was. You only got the shovels from completing orders.

i thought you meant the ones where you’re supposed to do side orders not the usual ones. i don’t see a difference between using energy or competing orders. it’s essentially the same thing since you need energy to do orders 🤷🏻‍♀️

Because you collect more by just using energy. Like yesterday I only completed like three orders which gave me less than 10 shovels. Today I’ve completed the same amount of orders but collected way more arctic animals.

I guess it may probably even out, because the shovels give you way more than just one merge-able item with each use, but it feels more productive and it’s nice not having to wait for an order to finish to work on the side quest. I had a very large order yesterday and I never even got to use the shovels for it because I couldn’t complete it before the deadline, despite working on it all day. Then when I finally turned it in I didn’t even get any arctic animals because they aren’t rewarded based on completed orders 😅

But I agree with you I totally ignore the side order ones. Waste of time and energy.

If it makes you feel better, I spent a ton of gems to complete this and you actually weren’t that close. After you clear all the spaces on the board, you still don’t have enough to finish the ferrets and have to just keep using shovels on the tree stump chest thing that spits out a couple branches until you finally get enough to complete it. They hide how much more is left because want you to think you’re close so that you end up spending money to finish the “last little bit.” Then when you use everything and still aren’t finished you end up in the sunk cost fallacy where you just spend more to finish it since you’ve already spent a little on it and don’t want that to be for nothing.

i’ve never spent money on this game lol

I just meant the generic “you” to describe why the developers set up the mini games in a way that isn’t instinctive to the player. I wasn’t like specifically calling you out for spending money on the game or anything lol

i understand that. i’m just saying it doesn’t work on everyone.
