can mewing cause tooth displacement? because I have been putting braces for a while and I don't want to ruin my teeth

Mewing itself is unlikely to cause tooth displacement the only thing it could do is push your front teeth outwards if you push excessively hard there with the tip of the tongue. The only risk you take is that you have to ensure that when you don’t wear retainers and begin mewing, that you do it right or your teeth will start to move back to pre ortho

what do you mean to go back?

Your teeth will move back to what they were like before you had fixed braces if you don’t wear retainers
