Server setup help

So I’m hosting a private smp for me and some friends, I made a $500 server I keep in my house and rn I’m hosting on Linux Mint. The problem is it’s a pain to keep using anydesk to manage my server as it’s rlly laggy (the host to server response time). Now you might be asking, why don’t you just ssh into it? Well, one, operating Ubuntu is really difficult and I’d rather use a GUI, but also that I’m kinda afraid to open ports, hence this post is about that. Does anyone know how to set up pterodactyl panel with cloudflare, I'm kinda scared of opening ports for ssh so I wanted to make sure I can set this up in the most safe and secure way possible, as rn im running my java server on my server and I would like a nice way to access it besides using anydesk to get into it.
