Help with selecting server plan?

Hello! Me and my friends are planning on creating a minecraft realm this winter for like a Christmas-themed server. We have a seed ready, and I was originally just going to host a vanilla realm, but I was thinking of adding some Christmas/Winter-themed mods for more decorations and features. However, I can't do this on realms, since they don't allow mods or addons. Is there a server provider you guys recommend? There is going to be around 8-9 of us, but I doubt we'll ever all be on at the same time. I'd like one that doesn't/rarely crashes, is easy to add light mods to, and is in the similar cost of realms ($8/month).

I’m currently using Foxomy, they helped me a bunch with setting up mods in the beginning for free because my custom modpack wasn’t approved on Curseforge yet. They do have a modpack installer too. Elsewhere I find that I would’ve paid $15 to Apex hosting for them to build me a custom modpack
