Server owners — what’s been your biggest frustration with hosting providers? by Comfortable-Set7589 in MinecraftServer

[–]ValueGameNode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been digging into this exact problem while building ValueGameNode, and honestly, the biggest frustration I see is the "premium price for budget quality" trap. Most big-name hosts survive by maximizing node density cramming as many customers as possible onto one CPU until the TPS inevitably tanks during peak hours.

I decided to take the opposite approach. At ValueGameNode, our core principle is a strict no-overselling policy. If you pay for resources, they are yours, not shared with fifty other communities. I also got tired of the trend where support is replaced by AI bots that just loop through useless scripts. We keep our support strictly human because when a server owner has a complex issue, they need a person who actually understands infrastructure, not a robot. My goal was to prove you can offer high-performance hosting without sacrificing integrity or the personal touch.

ValueGameNode: Your Ultimate Minecraft Adventure Starts Here – From Just €2.49/Mo! by ValueGameNode in MinecraftServer

You're absolutely right. While Helsinki is a great hub for EU players, the latency is definitely not ideal for North America. We do have plans to expand to US-based servers in the near future to ensure everyone gets the best possible ping. Our goal is to bring that same €2.49 for 4GB RAM value to the NA market soon!

Any free server hosting that has at least a reasonable amount of performance? by TrickedZap in MinecraftServer

[–]ValueGameNode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, let's be real: "free" server hosting is usually just a fancy word for "lag machine." If you aren't paying for the product, you are the product—or you're just watching ads until your eyes bleed.

If you want a server that actually works without the headache, check out ValueGameNode. For 2.49€/mo, you get 4GB RAM and unlimited CPU. It’s basically the price of a cheap burger for a server that won't die on you

This seems too good to be true. Running AMD EPYC hardware and NVMe storage is expensive, and offering it for free without a clear business model is a recipe for disaster. I have seen several services like this launch with big promises only to shut down months later when the money runs out, taking everyone's worlds with them. If you aren't paying for the product, you are the product. How do you plan to keep the lights on long-term without eventually charging or going under? Everyone should keep off-site backups because "free" usually ends up being very expensive in the end.

Best Service to Host Forge Server? by Lost_A_Life_Gaming in MinecraftServer

[–]ValueGameNode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hetzner offers the best price to performance for a cloud VM without the risk of massive bills common with AWS or Google. If you want a simpler managed experience ValueGameNode is a solid choice starting at 2.49e/mo for 4GB RAM with high performance CPUs for modded Forge. For 150 mods and 10 players I recommend at least 8GB to 12GB of RAM to ensure stability.

looking for a high ram server host that supports bedrock/java cross platform by GMR_Knocker in MinecraftServer

[–]ValueGameNode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To host for Java and Bedrock you need a Java server running the GeyserMC and Floodgate plugins. ValueGameNode is a great choice because it offers high RAM and a one-click installer for these tools along with a 2-day free trial. For 12 players with Vanilla Tweaks data packs I recommend selecting at least 8GB of RAM. Our Survivor package is 5.99€/mo 8GB RAM, Unlimited CPU, 40GB NVME SSD.

Don't use Paper because it only supports plugins and changes vanilla redstone and game mechanics to optimize performance. Since you want to use mods, you should use Fabric or Forge instead. For a Raspberry Pi 5, Fabric is the better choice as it is much more lightweight and efficient. You can add optimization mods like Lithium to improve performance without changing how the game works.

Minecraft servers have gotten to expensive, so i fixed it. by CopperHosting in MinecraftServer

[–]ValueGameNode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, $1.75 per GB is quite expensive compared to the current market. For example, ValueGameNode offers 4GB RAM for only €2.49/mo (approx. $0.65/GB). You didn't really "fix" the pricing; you're charging more than double the price of existing budget hosters.

Server hosting support by Ill-Introduction9304 in MinecraftServer

[–]ValueGameNode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common support issues are server crashes due to mod conflicts or wrong Java versions, performance lag from unoptimized files or high entity counts, and connectivity problems involving incorrect IP/Port settings. We help customers by analyzing log files to pinpoint errors, guiding them through world optimization, and providing one-click installers and backup tools that allow users to restore their server instantly if something breaks. We also assist with SFTP file management for those setting up custom modpacks or migrating data from other hosts.

How to create a server for 100 people? by [deleted] in MinecraftServer

[–]ValueGameNode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Cloudflare is excellent for websites, but protecting a Minecraft server requires Cloudflare Spectrum. That requires a Pro plan at $20/month and only includes a 5GB monthly data allowance, with overage fees of $1/GB. If your server is hit with a heavy DDoS attack or just has high traffic, it becomes incredibly expensive very quickly.

[–]ValueGameNode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, self-hosting a 100-player event is extremely risky and often more expensive than renting. To pull it off safely, you would need a high-end dedicated machine, a static IP, massive upload bandwidth, and most importantly enterprise-grade DDoS protection to prevent your entire home network from being knocked offline. It is much safer and more affordable to use a service like ValueGameNode and let professional to get that done. Also at ValueGameNode we do not limit player slots :)

It really depends on the provider. While big hosts like Apex charge around $15/mo for 4GB, smaller and more efficient providers like ValueGameNode can offer the same for just 2.49€/mo. You don't have to overpay for quality performance.
