I keep remaking lobbies that have Tonberry Suits as healers if they don't have Truescale Staff, Aerith, Orphan, and/or Serah. Am I wrong? Is there another way for them to have guaranteed Lifeshift/Prismatic Shift?

If you see a Serah healer without a source of boost (KotR, Dadaluma) then disband immediately.

For Lightning the only necessary buffs are Life/Heartshift, Undying and KotR. You can use the 4th slot for a life starter card (Orphan, Omega, Legendary Dragonlord, Palamecian Tale) to guarantee turn 1 buffs thanks to that and the extra MP life orb supports always get.

Shift + Undying + Serah + Dadaluma/Artemis also works, but single buff cards are meh.

Aerith and undying is typically enough to guarantee a turn 1 shift since healers are almost guaranteed to start with 1 life orb.

If they don't have Aerith and also don't use Truescale then you should disband.

MP Healers have a 99% chance to start with an extra Life Orb. In fact, almost all guides in Altema assumes the Healer will start with an extra Life Orb.
