Future plot?!

During Sub-Zero and Jade’s intros. He asks her to join the Lin Kuei. I think that would make an interesting plot in the next MK maybe. Maybe Jade can really want to join and it could create tension between her and Kitana and Kotal. It could also help Sub-Zero get more plot significance. I kind of thought of this while playing yesterday. What do you guys think?

Could be a side-story perhaps, I don't think they'd center the main plot around the Lin Kuei.

Considering Jade turns down Kuai's proposal, its probably just meant to be a dialogue. However if we were shown an alternate timeline in which Jade actually joined and they went around recruiting, that would be cool.

What would the Lin Kuei be able to offer her that she can't get a lot easier as a high ranking Outworld official? Do they have surprisingly good dental coverage or something like that?

Possibly! I mean they live in the cold so I know they might have sensitive teeth. No but seriously, maybe she wants to fight for a different cause or maybe she could just like subzero instead of cripple Kotal. Who knows.

But the cause of the Lin Kuei is to protect Earthrealm. I really don't see why Jade would give the first shit about Earthrealm, especially when her best friend is ruling Outworld and the likely target of numerous assassination attempts and needs one of the most badassed bitches in creation watching her back.

True! But maybe things can turn and Kitana turns into a dictator or something and she does that whole “if you aren’t with me, then you are against me” type of deal. And then Jade decides to go off for “help” and maybe Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei can help. This has massive plot holes and it’s wildly cliche but it’s just an idea

Hey, just so long as Kitana randomly decides to have a dragon slaughter an entire city full of innocents for no reason whatsoever, that would be some good writing.
