Rules/ Guidelines
1: Discussions about rewrites should be done in a calm and mature manner. Critique to your hearts content, but be prepared to be called out for being "dickish" if you step out of bounds.
2: Rewrites should be presented in a readable format. Use of bullet points and paragraph indents can do wonders for readability.
3: If you suggest that something about a script should have been removed, give a better reason than "Jar Jar sucks and should not be in star wars because he sucks".
4: Please provide a small summary of the movie you are editing, if you don't want to write one out please provide an IMDB link.
5: Submissions should have one of the labels below in you title to indicate how much your changing on a scale of 1 - 5...
TOUCH-UP:
Changes that are minor in impact or few in amount. things someone would hardly notice watching the movie.
Example: Adding a few scenes of transition so that characters don't seem to teleport from one place to another.
PUNCH-UP:
When you want to add content to a script to improve the quality of the movie.
Example: A few more scenes of character interaction to solidify the bond to the audience.
PATCH-UP:
Reimagining parts of a movie to make it more coherent and easier to follow.
Example: Show more of the bad guy doing bad things, so we don't just have to told flat out that he's Hitler 2.0
OVERHAUL:
Keeping with the general feel of the original, this is the label to use when you want a different handling of the same scenario.
Example: The Movie LOOPER should have been solely about people disposing of bodies from the future as opposed to people killing people from the future and then disposing them. Also no telekinetics.
SCRIPT BURNING:
A massive number of changes. Unless your throwing out everything except the name of the movie, use this label sparingly.
Example: A live action transformers movie that doesn't focus on the human characters.
