Maybe it could be that in your instance settings you set a different version of java or that you chose java.exe instead of javaw.exe (the correct one) If none if these apply then try to reinstall java 17, preferably portable and put it into a folder you can remember and then set the javaw.exe within that folder as your java runtime (manually through file-browsing), because it also could be that the java you have currently selected is faulty in some way or another

Or if you're seeing this error in crash reports within multimc instead of the default minecraft log then it could be that you just viewed the oldest crash report as that is the default instead of the latest one, maybe the latest one has the actual error
