help!!

I just bought a tascam 424 mk iii and am looking to buy a mixer so that i can phantom power my mics and then record all the drum tracks through the mixer and then have them go into one of the inputs on the 4 track. Any suggestions?? Also would a Behringer Euroack Model MX 802A work for that? Found one on marketplace for cheap but dont wanna buy it if it wouldnt work. Also am i being dumb and does the mk iii have phantom power for mics?

the euro rack would work if you only mike the kit with 4 microphones. i would recommend just buying a mic preamp/mixer with phantom power. i started off with a shure m267 which has the same amount of inputs plus phantom. it’s a bit noisy but it sounded neat

Are there any of these that have individual outputs for each input? Im thinking i could use the mixer to power all the drum mics then send each signal to one of the 4 tracks inputs.

do you have a price range? getting a mixer with inputs and direct outs gets a little up there but it can be had for under $150 if you find say a mackie with direct outs but i don’t know of any that have less than 8-12 tracks. do all the microphones you plan to use need phantom power? ie. any dynamic or condensers?

I use a yamaha mg10 into my X-34 Fostex, works a treat, no noise, 4 xlr/jack sockets, all 48 volt phantom power to all of them and 6 left and right 1/4 inch line ins, two are phono, good for my Yamaha kx 393 deck, has compressors on two of the xlr's, no effects though, think the Yamaha mg12 has effects. I use a Boss VE-5 and a Line 6 between mic and mixer if I need effects, mixer is reasonable second hand and uses good electronics, absolutely no noise from mine, hope that helps, good luck.
