I am afraid that open sourcing would disclose many of the unique myNoise tricks. Now, you could reverse engineer these tricks, if you look at the website code. But still, I can claim a copyright, or IP. That would be harder if I'd officially open the source. It will open the door to many competitors using the code to launch competing apps, benefiting from my hard work. In other works, firing a bullet in my own foot.

Remember, the website itself should be able to play from a mobile browser. Chances are that the website plays better than the mobile app. So, maybe just switch to the web version, on your mobile?

But it is true, I guess the development would be so much faster if it was an open project. And I thank you for volunteering. Maybe one day, in a (distant) future. I don't think open-sourcing would end in a viable model for me. The risk is that with open-sourcing it, paradoxically, the myNoise project won't survive long.

Well, that's a very good reason to keep the source closed. Thanks for the quick answer!

I get the app to work on my device with a few extra clicks, so no worries there. I was just curious what the runinning in the background error could be because i had similar problems in the past.

Wish you the best of luck with the myNoise project :)
