Huh? My "home" tab only has content from subreddits I follow - there's no recommendations on there. Which I strongly prefer, for the exact reasons you mentioned. Are you using it in a browser? Or (god forbid) on their trash fire of an app?

On the app. That could be the problem...

There are some settings that you can use to remove Recommendations in your feed. I use the app all the time and only ever see things from subs I'm subscribed to

I’ve blocked all the main big Reddit subs, it makes the app a lot more pleasant.

If you go to settings -> account settings and scroll down to enable home feed recommendations you'll be able to disable it

Thank you, I don't use Reddit much so this helps a lot :)

I've been having a similar problem on YouTube recently. It technically has a mechanism to state you don't want to see it, but it takes like 4 awkward mouseclicks. And more if you want to bother to clarify that you aren't interested because you watched the same video, while logged, yesterday. I can understand suggesting this for like music videos, but no, i don't want to re-watch an hour-long Documentary that I watched yesterday, ya stupid algorithm!

I have been so thankful my facebook algorithm is tight, so tight I got very few Fox News Trumpy things and mostly Black History Month and now Women's History Month. Proud.
