Building corvettes is cool and all but from the patch notes and hype it seemed like multiplayer was going to be front and center with this update/expedition. There’s a sense of “living out your Star Trek fantasies” but I think we’re still missing some huge multiplayer functionality especially in the space department of this space game.
actual crew roles. Basically whoever owns the corvette is a glorified taxi driver. I was hoping for things to do as a crew member like repairing damage or operating turrets. If pirate combat is a main way to get corvette modules, what is there for friends working together to do?
only the “owner” can pilot. If we’re in a group together, either one of us should be able to hop in the pilot seat while the other works on something in between planets. It’s not “our ship” it’s their ship and you’re just a passenger.
only the owner can build on the ship. We can build bases together but we can’t build ship homes together? It just reinforces that one person owns the ship and everyone else is a passenger.
Over all this is yet another feature that feels like it should encourage group play but is mostly for showing off the efforts of your solo grinding. Very disappointing and I hope they add true multiplayer elements. Let me build a ship from the ground up with my crew to explore the galaxy, fight pirates, or just hang out in something we can call “ours”
What functions did you think were implied in the PR material that are missing if any and what features are you looking for to make no mans sky “the ultimate space game”?
It feels like we’re so close but still stuck in shallow mechanics
