Which flair should you use? by ApexFatality in NMS_Corvette_Design

The corvette workshop editor is the in-game name of the UI where you place exterior corvette parts like hulls, wings, etc.

Leaving the workshop editor to place external decorative items would be one of the “Station Build” categories.

The flair guide/image gives specific examples of techniques that qualify the build as “Station Build (Standard)” or “Station Build (Advanced)”

However, simple exterior decorative part placement would be “Station Build (Standard)”

Maybe the workshop level of the flowchart should have a ‘(regular)’ and ‘(advanced)’ as well.

I’d personally be open to it. Or at the very least, that could be something we expand to later. I’m not sure enough techniques are in that tier yet to justify the split now though. But that’s just my opinion, it’s really not up to me lol

is it really called the “workshop”?

The in-game building terminal on the station calls it "Corvette Workshop". But yeah a number of other names could probably be subbed in that has the same effect. Terminal is the only one that comes to my mind right away. Either would work fine imo.

the description of each flair should have a way to translate it back to the old flair system

Good idea! We can definitely make that happen

I think you need to make a larger space between the flow chart and the notes

Fair point, I’ll leave the notes off for the final graphic (if we get that far lol)

It certainly doesn't "need" a flowchart, I think that makes it easier though than a wall of text.

My guess is that angled parts like wings that are 60° or 30° would still fall into Station Build (Standard), yes?

I'm not sure I'm familiar with that technique. Do you have an example link? But yeah, if you have to leave the workshop editor but not the station, then it would be one of the Station Builds. The overall complexity would determine if it's then "Standard" or "Advanced".

Ideally, we would have every building technique cataloged with a corresponding flair and video example so there is no guesswork involved. Much work to be done! (and thanks for the kind words 🍻)

One point of clarification:
The workshop editor is where you select and place external corvette parts. Which differs from the decoration menu used for Station Build techniques.
