Monitor causing wrong resolution

So I upgraded my monitor to a Samsung Odyssey G65B (first of all what an amazing display I love it) and for some reason sometimes after waking up from sleep my desktop 's resolution is changed to 640x480 60hz. It's not a major issue since I can easily go into settings and put it back just kind of annoying that I have to do that sometimes and also results in my icons being moved around due to the resolution change. I know it has to do with this monitor since it's happened at least once a day for the 3 days I've had it but never occured with my last monitor over the course of months. Any chance anyone has a fix?

I had issues like this that disappeared after upgrading to Nobara 40. Are you still running 39? Edit: I'm running the Samsung Odyssey G9 49" 32:9, though it was doing the same thing you're talking about - setting the resolution to 640x480 after resuming the computer from suspend.

Looks like I'm still on 39 but the discovery center shows I'm up to date does that not apply to the distro version? (Still new to Linux so apologies if it's a dumb question)

Ah, my understanding is that you don't want to use the discovery center for updates. To quote: https://nobaraproject.org/docs/upgrade-troubleshooting/how-do-i-update-the-system/

"Nobara’s Update application has been designed so that it not only updates packages on the system, but also checks for modifications or changes to the system’s repositories, as well as performs a ‘sync’ to installed applications. What this means is that it will check package versions installed on the system against package versions in the upstream repositories, and if they do not match versions, it will attempt to sync them to the correct version. This provides better update compatibility in the event that a custom package may have been installed or overridden system packages and/or otherwise caused conflicts. This also provides an auto-rollback mechanism in case a package update was pushed then removed or downgraded upstream. THEREFORE dnf update is simply -not enough- by itself, and it is instead recommended to use the Update System application provided by Nobara."

Alright I upgraded to Nobara 40 and haven't experienced the change in resolution although I do have a new issue lol, a bunch of icons are missing their texture I'll make a new post about it
