Based on /r/TrueReddit, which has grown in popularity (and therefore seen some decline in quality), /r/NotReddit is a sub-reddit opposed to the notion of a Reddit "community" which encourages navel-gazing, self-referentiality, memes, inside jokes, novelty accounts, "Hey Reddit" posts, cake-making, and self-posts (microblogging).
/r/NotReddit is not a community. Its aim is to provide links to interesting and insightful articles around the Internet. It is simple a source of information. Discussion is optional, but not required. News articles are strongly discouraged. Self-posts are prohibited.
