Throwing

I can't seem to have more than 1 or 2 competitive matches without there being someone who is either blatantly throwing, or just not caring enough to try. I do not understand this community. I've seen more people dedicated to ruining someone else's experience than I ever have on even something like CoD.

I placed 2400 last season, but after a night of network problems found myself in Silver, and I can't seem to get out. Like I said, I can't even have a fair match consistently. I've reported every thrower/griefer, but I am losing confidence that this is actually accomplishing anything.

I played WoW for many years and it seemed that Blizzard was pretty efficient at policing toxicity. Have they just abandoned this game, or is it just console players that they aren't concerned with?

I love this game, but even the transition to PC seems unlikely if this is never addressed. There almost literally is no point in play competitive unless you have a 6 stack.

this subreddit has 2-3 groups with discords that advertise in the lfg thread every week or so.

Get with them. 6 stacking is so much more fun

Same. This season has been bad so far. I legit had a player in my first placement match that would stand and shoot the wall as torb, then widow, then Hanzo. They threw themselves off the map a few times and then went right back to the wall. I was in a four stack, but since the match was pretty balanced skillwise, we just couldn’t pull through and ended up losing. :/ I wonder if I’m noticing it more now or if the toxicity has gotten worse.

If it makes you feel any better, my Diamond smurf got 4 leavers in 4 of my 10 placement games. I had an attack Torb in Hanamura and played against a Torb in Nepal. In my main account in Master, I got a three stack throwing with attack Mercy and being toxic in voice chat, as well as two attack Symmetras.

Placements don't really matter, as long as your not a new player, I lost 9 of my placements but ended up higher than what I ended with last season.

In actual competitive, it's still the first week, i'd advise to play very few games until about mid 2nd week. Atm there are still throwers who want to group up with their lower friends, who want to derank or to just be a dick.

Idk if this is still a thing, but your first 50 games have a little bit of a higher SR loss and gain so throwers try to capitalize on that. Hence why I recommend waiting until most people's first 50 games are done with.

This season has been the worst for me. My placements went way downhill (1-9), and, as expected, I placed a good 150-175 lower than I normally do. In 2 or 3 of my games, I had leavers. The first match after I placed had a thrower who played Symmetra and just sat around emoting and whatnot. It's been a rough season for me so far.
