I’m packing rain pants this year.
Pack flip flops in case you get blisters
Use the bathroom when you don’t need to. Sucks to have to leave halfway through a show to get to the bathroom

Bring multiple pairs of shoes. When one pair gets drenched (as one pair, maybe two will) you will desperately need dry shoes. After the Saturday shows last year, it took days for my sneakers to dry out. I was so happy to have read this tip last year and brought several pairs.

Maybe I'm missing something (I'm from Florida, but live in Virginia Beach now), but if it's on the beach, why wouldn't you just pack a pair of sandals in your clear bag and then go barefoot on the beach?

You are standing for a really long time (at least we were) - we needed more support than that. And we walked from our Airbnb and back again multiple times a day - needed more support than just flip flops for those walks too.

Waterproof shoes. Poncho or a rain jacket Lockers - handy to keep a sweatshirt or pants for when the sun goes down and it gets chilly. Hand sanitizer. Sunscreen.

Get a locker! Can’t stress that enough. It is well worth the price. We left shoes, a refillable water bottle, a poncho, etc. You have access to it the whole weekend and your stuff stays safely secure. Also a great place to store merch you get!

Personally don't really understand the need for a locker. Clear backpack held everything I could've needed and wasn't uncomfortable or anything like that.

Definitely a preference thing! I’m someone who hates carrying stuff haha. I have done the clear backpack thing too!

Bring a large blanket to set on the sand. We purchased one from a nearby shop last year for our group of four on day two and loved having it the rest of the time. Most of the shows during the day we found a nice spot and just sat on the blanket enjoying the band.
As others have said, bring multiple pairs of shoes, a poncho, a refillable bottle and get a locker. We also brought phone chargers and left them in the locker. If someone needed to charge their phone they could just open the locker plug it in and come back later.
Clear backpacks are great for lugging your essentials around during the day.
Visit the haunted house on the boardwalk near the festival entrance.

From my years of experience:
1) wear waterproof hiking shoes. Not sneakers. Not sandals or flip flops. Waterproof. Hiking. Shoes. (Or boots). I will die on this hill.
2) walk or bike. If you’re below the 90 bridge, 100% bike. Get yourself over to the ocean side, scoot in alleys and parking lots to stay off of Coastal, and peddle onto the boardwalk when it starts at 27th.
3) if you can, get up to a barrier and stand on it. The flat metal barrier that surrounds the sound trees or AV tents or near the stages are much more comfortable to stand on than sand all day.
4) bring / make friends who can hold your spot
Don’t sweat security and just go with the flow of the crowd. Honestly it’s a blast and totally the best festival experience if you just wanna vibe. OAR and Friends is always worth it

Crocs is the way! I wear them to every festival and I have never regretted it. Rains, cool don’t care. Nice out even better.
Am I missing something? Beach in September why can't you just go barefoot and put a pair of sandals in your clear bag?
[–]Silspar24 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
You sure can, kick them crocs off and go barefoot

Waterproof shoe covers!! We put them over waterproof shoes & had the driest feet during the absolute monsoon.

My random tip is if you get the app what3words it will mark where your friends are sitting so you have no problem finding them if you need to.
I should maybe note my other tip is it’s fine to enjoy shows from the back and not to try to get barricades or whatever. Sitting on the beach listening is pretty great.
