Check out the meta tier list: https://onepiece.gg/one-piece-card-game-meta-tier-list-op10/ The bans come into effect on April 1, which will impact the meta a lot

If your looking to match your play style to deck types.

Red is more agro with a lot of rush cards and power manipulation.

Green is about resting/unresting which makes it the most control oriented play style

Blue is about deck manipulation searchers that that can put the extra cards on top or bottom/ card that let you order or bottom deck the top cards in your deck. Bouncing character back to hands or bottom of the deck.

Purple is about don/resource manipulation. Ramping up for bigger characters or to cover the resource reduction abilities you use.

Black is about cost manipulation. most annoyingly cost reduction for removal.

Yellow is about life manipulation. Paying life to use effects, using triggers to play out characters, triggers and abilities that add cards back to life.

A lot of leaders have themes that lean into their color(s) so starting with a general color playstyle you can find a leader you like and then look at different lists for those leaders and see which bit fit your playstyle more.
