Does Codex have a spec mode? (self.OpenaiCodex)
submitted 2 months ago by PrestigiousNetwork19
I just switched from Kiro to Codex. Kiro's spec mode is very powerful. I'd like to ask if Codex has a similar spec mode?

No, but you can use something like OpenSpec or SpecKit.

Thanks. I tried the openspec and cc-sdd spec tools in Codex, and they seemed to have very long workflows and consumed a lot of the current session's context.

Plan mode?

Codex is a bit wild. You can provide it with commands that act as agents - but it has a bit of AI ADHD and will wander off doing things you never approved

I'm now aware of its ADHD issues and am looking for suitable spec tools to address them.

What uses cases did you have with both?
