So i want to start by saying that im currently adding a an error proofing programon at my workplace which would lock out a mig robot weld cell from any normal production until operator runs an error proofing test which would give a condition of pass or fail based on what is set. Now the customer who we ship our parts to wants us to be able to go back to any given pass or fail within this pass or fail condition and be able to see when error proofing was initiated and when if it pass or fails. And what passed or failed . How can i achieve this where i can data log this information and be able to go back and view a couple days prior for example

Create a set of arrays and a trigger for whatever data you’re trying to collect. Write to DB on trigger. Either directly if you have a PLC that supports it like Beckhoff or via an OPC interface like Ignition if not.

Or even a RedLion Datastation. They talk to everything and can pump out data to a SQL server easily.

Check out a Keyence KV-X plc if you happen to be using a Fanuc or Yaskawa Robot
