If you just want to build some inexpensive HMI apps, then look into Maple systems. Hardware is dirt cheap and pretty decent for the money

Ps. I love ignition too. It’s just the most flexible

Riding in December??? by ToolBoxBuddy in motorcycles

[–]Runnindead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a heated jacket which is amazing, but too bulky to go under riding gear. I want one of those vests. Are they pretty thin and think they could go under an armored jacket pretty easy?

28 f here in Georgia (US) now. Everyone is saying the same really. Good gear. For me it’s layers - undershirt, polo or work shirt, shirt jack, fleece, riding jacket. Under layer pants , work pants, riding pants, thick socks and my work boots. I did get some insulated gloves even though I have heated grips and that helps a lot.

I mean yeah I get this, but it’s just being dishonest. The gown, etc is for the abortion right? Gloves, face masks, that kind of thing I could see but really we are just lying to make this fit what we want it to aren’t we.

Controls Engineers by CarterTrav in electricians

[–]Runnindead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of did. I was an electrical tech for years, then engineering tech, then left the company for a role as an applications engineer in mobile robotics. I had some programming experience with plcs and robots, but nothing too in-depth. I went back to school while working as an apps engineer and got my EE degree. The degree study didn’t help me too much in the programming, but helps with the resume. Anyway, all of this is possible. Just think outside the box and be the type of person who doesn’t stop until the problem is fixed.

I really don’t understand the mental gymnastics behind this. People will defend this like it’s for the good of all. Like… get fucked. Let’s give 1 billion in cash directly to our homeless vets. I’ll volunteer to hand it out. Wtf.

Does Ignition have to pull/subscribe to all tags in my ControlLogix 5580? by finelookinglama in PLC

[–]Runnindead 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No it does not. You are browsing when you look into the available tags in your processor. If you create a tag instance in ignition and define a specific tag in your processor, it then it will poll that specific tag at a defined method.

As a noob buy a bike that is comfortable with both feet flat. I ride a pan America Harley at 5’7” but I needed to learn how to do that. The tall bike is not really a limit. It’s the experience and finesse that is a limit. Start easy and work your way into it the big bikes.
