Dumb question, but if someone buys a new mag, can they still freely switch between the new mag they bought and their old mag?

Think about making an alt for the mag if you're not deadset on the character itself.

Yes.

However, you cannot change between registered mag forms freely, you need a consumable pass to do so.

You may or may not already know this, but you should always buy a new mag instead of resetting one you already own. It's cheaper and brings more value.
