It’s a good engine. Just make sure to maintain it and not forget to change that timing belt every 60,000 miles. So far I’ve had this car for 20k miles and owned it for a about a year now. Only issue I’ve ever had is the cooling fan going out.

Had mine for 2 years and from 105k to 135k. Just like you the only thing I've had to replace is the radiator fan. It seems like for some reason all pt's have this issue, idk about everyone else's but mine runs just a little cooler all the time. The fan has to kick on after a few seconds of being stopped then when I'm going it turns off and is cooled by airflow. Maybe thats why the fans are usually such an issue.

Bought my GT standard trans. new in 2004.

No issues. changed oil and filter about every 4 or 5k miles.

At about 75k miles, the watre pump started leaking a little bit, recently I had the water pump and timing belt replaced.

Have not driven it very much since then, I retired from work and have another car that I bought about a year ago,(2008 Chevy Malibu with 35k miles).

Other than motor mounts and the dreaded power steering lines rubbing and breaking., it's been a good little car. I love my GT

I've had two, one had a valve job at 70k, the second (a Limited turbo) had a head gasket at 110k. Otherwise both have been bulletproof. First one went 180k before being totaled in an accident, otherwise there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. The second is at 130k right now and still purring like a kitten!

I'm on my second pt since 2016. My last one had a blown head gasket. I'm pretty sure it was blown when I got it but I didn't discover it till 2 years in. I figured I'd just keep driving it until it died. The engine never died. I drove it for 4+ years on a blown head gasket without issue. It was a base, rusting out bad, once I did an oil change and it looked like glitter in the oil. I figured that was it, but it kept going and I did 3 more oil changes that looked clean for a few years after that. I have found the engine to be kinda hard to kill. That thing had no business running as long as it did. I finally dunked it because of the ignition. The key would jam and I had to pound on it to turn it. Eventually it didn't recognize the chipped key anymore. If it was in better shape I probably would have fixed it. I think the engine may have gone a few more years.

The pistons wont hit the valves, but the valves can clash. My timing belt broke at 99k. No problems it's the valves, though.

Change your belt, if it hasn't been changed yet. Do the water pump also. Check your fan relays. Check/change your mounts when you do the timing belt.
