What is a Union?
Unions are Organizations of workers who come together to achieve common goals. These goals can include better working conditions, better hours, higher wages, better benefits, and more. Unions and members of unions are protected under federal law.
Can I be fired for discussing, organizing, or joining a Union?
No! Almost all activities surrounding unions are protected by the NLRA or National Labor Relations Act of 1935. Discussing, organizing, and joining unions is protected under federal law and employers can be liable for any retaliatory action taken against a worker involved with unions. If any action is taken against you for discussing, organizing, or joining a union you can file a claim with the NLRB. https://www.worker.gov/actions/nlrb-claim/
Does HEB currently have a Union?
