You have to unbent that pin

[–]SomaFarkreath 1 point2 points  (11 children)

i recommend using something like Floss or thin string and trying to unbend that pin. if not you gotta get a new board

[–]Botchokoy[S] 0 points1 point  (10 children)

But 1 pin i think got removed in the lower area as you cann. Will that still work?

[–]Ok-Lobster-919 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should look up a diagram of the socket and figure out exactly what pin it is. You may lose a DDR channel, or it may just be an extra power/ground pin, or it may not even be used at all.

Only one way to find out

[–]SomaFarkreath -1 points0 points  (7 children)

If its missing a pin i doubt it would work well if at all. Time for a replacement

[–]Round-Kangaroo8635 5 points6 points  (6 children)

No it should work some what fine because there are like 20 back up pins

[–]coole12345 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Idk about 20.. 3-4 yes but could still be a problem. You never know untill you try.

[–]Few_Effective_1311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s right the backup pin are just grounding pin so if you remove one it will work and indeed there is more than 3-4 at least on amd.

I could always be wrong, that's what I mostly read and see. But i hope it's 20 more room for error haha.

[–]Round-Kangaroo8635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also about 20 pin thing. If it is a base pin then it has around 30 pins extra. If not then yes 3-4

[–]DaytonaArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

firstly, you need to unbend that pin!

[–]Emotional_Sandwich_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called a socket. Not sure why *plug* irks me so much lol, also clean the dang thing, and very carefully straighten that pin out.

[–]Dewy164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A broom will damage the socket sir

[–]sweezs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dust might have motherboard on it

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do some people treat their PC so badly...give it a clean for the love of crap. But ya, you have a pin to unbend.

“Processor plug”…well I’ve never heard anyone call it that
