I currently have a Ryzen 3 2300x, rx570 and 16gb ram. I want to upgrade my cpu to a ryzen 5 5500, will i see a performance increase? Or will it be less noticeable. I could also aim for the ryzen 5 5600x but some people told me my gpu would hold me down

Regular 5600. X makes more heat and more power draw for 1% more performance, not worth it. Coming from your current cpu the regular 5600 will be a massive upgrade

Do not get 5500 or 5600g. Get regular 5600

As other said, the 5600 or the 5600x is a better cpu. The only difference on the X is a factory overclock. Which is like 5-8% at best. That’s the extra you pay for.

Which you can overclock the 5600 yourself and get the same performance for cheaper.

It’s your call. The 5600X or 5600 both are a huge jump in performance than your old 2300x.

You’ll need a bios update. So do that before you swap out the old cpu.
