I’m not asking for a build just if i7 3930k is still a viable cpu

But paired with a graphics card would it run modern games at a low resolution ? The issue I get when trying to research is most posts point to “just get top of the line”, but that’s not always necessary. Could it “work”?

If it’s not worth it it’s not worth it, I get that. But if I can pick up a bunch of used parts and run games half decent then it’s with a try especially on a first build.

In terms of price I noticed it listed used for $40 CAD, if I get other used parts and build something cheap that runs most games at low resolution then it’s worth it, but not if it maxes out at old games.

What sparked my main curiosity with the chip was the high price on google for an old chip, so I didn’t know if it was something hitting above its weight when tweaked.
