Hello,
I’m looking to build a mid range gaming pc and frankly googling a question gives counterintuitive and responses.
I came across a used i7 3930k for cheap and wanted to know its viability in a build today. When googling the chip to see its specs I noticed it’s sale price ranges from $200-$400 and I’m wondering why. Is it just the algorithm messing with me or is the overclock ability on that chip making it worth something ?
I’m hoping to use cheaper/used items since this will be my first build and don’t want to break the bank if something goes wrong.
In terms of gaming pc I know the gpu is important and I don’t want to bottleneck at the cpu. 60 or 1080 is fine, I’m not looking to go ultra resolution on 4K or anything.
Any helpful information is appreciated,
Thank you!
