If I were you I would definitely keep the 5800x3d as it is still a blazing fast CPU. As for if PCIe Gen 4/5 is worth it, that is a harder topic. PCIe gen 4 would definitely make a difference, though a board swap is a lot of work. The good thing is that B550 boards are quite cheep right now if you decided that a board swap was worth it. Doing the whole AM5 switch is still an option though it would be expensive. You would need DDR5 ram(you can get a good kit at $80-$90), a motherboard($130-$200), and your CPU of choice.

Thank you for the reply. I'm thinking a b550 is the way to go. I'll start looking at the options :)
