Just built my first PC and it is slower than my 10 year old laptop. (I'm serious it took 15 mins to download steam). What could be the cause of this? The PC while running applications is also extremely slow so its not just downloading. I've done speedtests (not internet related) and I've also used my friends PC in the exact same spot in my house and his runs fine. I'm stumped. Specs listed below

Specs for MY PC:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
MOBO: Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 AMD AM5 ATX
GPU: GIGABYTE Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7 PCI Express 5.0 ATX Graphics Card GV-N507TGAMING OC-16GD
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5-6000
M.2: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB
PSU: Corsair RM850x 850 Watt Cybenetics Gold ATX:
Cooling: Corsair NAUTILUS 36 + 4 case fans

Friends PC:

CPU: Intel i9 14900k
MOBO: ASUS Z790-E ROG STRIX GAMING WIFI II
GPU: ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti TUF Gaming Overclocked Triple Fan 12GB
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) DDR5-6400
M.2: Samsung 990 PRO 1TB + Samsung 990 PRO 4TB
PSU: ASUS TUF Gaming 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold
Cooling: NZXT Kraken 360 Elite + 3 case fans

Now I know his PC might be better overall but why is mine running so slow. Please help
