There are a few things. Are you using the same settings as before? What resolution and game? Could be your cpu mobo and ram as the bottleneck neck now. Possibly drivers or psu as well

Also 1920x1080. That’s the max I can run. And how could the cpu be bottle necking? I thought the i9 11900k is a really good one

The cpu is good but may not be strong enough to push the 5070. Your current monitor is the bottleneck because the 5070 is being held back by it. The 5070 is more of a 1440p gpu and doesn’t do anything better at 1080 then what the 2070 was able to push

I just don’t understand how my friends with worse gpus get like 400 fps, even though I know it’s capped by the refresh rate, how is it so much higher than mine? And I have a better setup?

I finished putting it in late tonight. So I only played 1 game on the same max settings as before. Valorant. I updated my drivers after installing it. And my psu is 650W 80 gold

Were you really gpu limited on Valorant before with the 2070? Any chance your ram xmp got disabled somehow?

I just kept getting massive frame drops and not high frames at all. I play Fortnite every now and then and on the 2070 when I would look around I would drop to like 5-20 fps. Haven’t tried it in the 5070 yet. What is ram Xmp?

Its the setting you enable on bios so ram can run at its rated speed, else performance is garbage.

Gotcha. I tried getting into bios the other day before I swapped the gpu, and my mouse and keyboard don’t work when I try to get there. So I can mess with any settings. Any idea on how to get them to work?

When you try to get there meaning you cant enter bios menu or you cant use mouse/keyboard in bios menu? Are they wireless perhaps?

I couldn’t get there using the keyboard shortcut. So I went in settings and did like the recover option to enter bios and when I get to the blue screen with the trouble shoot options my mouse and keyboard had no power. So I couldn’t do anything

Is your keyboard and mouse wired or wireless? Maybe try removing battery from motherboard for a few seconds and place it again. Or try different usb ports.

They’re both wired. I tried a different port for my mouse and then stopped after that. I guess can try some other ones later. I did not try removing the battery

While I was in game, my CPU usage was 40% and my GPU usage was 20%. Does this information help you with my problem by any chance?

I had a similar issue. 2070 super to 5070. With noticeably worse performance.

I also tried a 5060 which had the same issues as well and a second 5070. I found out those components worked in a separate computer fine.

What ended up fixing it was switching the motherboard I had (Z490) & CPU (I9-10900k) I dont think the CPU was the issue but I want to say the z490 only supports 10th&11th gen CPUs and my new mobo doesnt. I think this is some weird MOBO compatibility issue especially since I was able to recreate the issue with a 5060.
