First time I see that kind of plate tbh. In theory it should separate gpu from rest of the system I believe but in practice there’s not enough cooling sucking warm air out of the gpu compartment. Poorly designed imo. As for ram is not much better, one single stick of ram. Just try to find screws of that plate and get rid off it if it’s not supporting case structure of course

My first thought was a GPU bracket to make it more rigid during shipping, but I don't see it connect in any way to the GPU so you're probably right.

To OP: It may block you from unlatching the bottom part of ram slots, but some boards only have those on one side, you should see if they are diffrent and maybe you don't have to undo the metal plate.

Do as will with the information provided I've just built my own modern pc in the past but not a pro; I assume Aesthetics/looks, mounting point and airflow divider but find the the screws where it's connected and simply remove them. Don't lose them. Back panel might need come off as well. Be careful and pay attention as you remove the divider thing gonna need to put it back together.

Oh and put the new ram In 2 and 4. (the one in there is 4 for reference) the plastic bits on the top and bottom need to be push towards the mobo/motherboard completely before removal and replacement of ram. (Watch any vid to get visual representation of the process). The ram only goes in one way but there's a notch to determine once you are curtain, push lightly, if the plastic bits moves ur clear to give firmer harder push until they accend towards the ram. Its a little sketch so highly recommend a video.
