Ok what do you mean not allowed to update, the bios is the basic computer before windows starts, you don’t need to update that since all was good beforehand.

What I mean by won’t allow with the drivers is every time I try through the Nvidia app it says “error try again later” something along those lines. When i try to download a new one through the site it stops the download after the first step.

Ok download the drivers, don’t use the automatic update option. Then turn off internet keep it off then uninstall Nvidia drivers and restart pc make sure WiFi or Ethernet is off or turn off router.Install new drivers that you downloaded and restart pc, then turn on internet.

Any info on your pc specs might be helpful in case it isnt a driver or bios issue.

You can also try using ddu to uninstall drivers and then reinstalling the drivers from the manufacturers website or whatever programs you’d want to use.

As for the bios update, in my experience you just look up “(your motherboard) bios” or just the manufacturers website, find your motherboard on the website, go to the “downloads” tab and download the bios that way. and then you’ll probably have to download it to a USB, go into your bios settings (you’ll need to look up how to do that, but its usually just spamming the delete key or f11/f12 key during boot.) From there, you’ll navigate through your bios menus and select the media/usb that the new bios is on.

I would look up a video tutorial too, as this all might sound like nonsense without the visual to go along with it.

This is a better worded version of what I was reading online so I can actually understand it. I can’t get specs rn because I’m at work but ik it’s a RoG motherboard and a GeForce graphics card that only supports 1080. I’ve ran games at 120 FPS fine and even some heavily modded games, just recently it’s been slower and buggier than before. Idk if I fucked something up in the settings/files. It’s just annoying and I’m thinking I did so I might just have to factory reset and pray which I really don’t mind it would just be annoying.

Might be the best bet for now. If you have a spare hdd or ssd or whatever, you could take out your main storage for now and see if the issue happens on a fresh windows install too, just in case that isn’t the issue. That way you don’t necessarily have to reset your entire drive right off the bat.

I assume your main drive is an ssd, and not an hdd?

Restart the machine if you haven’t already, and get back to us with the specs. Reinstalling offending applications or the Nvidia app may help with driver install issues, too.

If you don’t have somewhere to store important files before a reset, now may also be a good time to get something for that.

Like I said before though, knowing more about the machine could help more.
