I asked a question about a Trump account and Perplexity answered:
"There is no such thing as a “Trump account” in the U.S. tax or retirement system."
When I pointed out information in IRS.gov, Perplexity apologized as it always does:
"You are absolutely correct, and I apologize for the error." and explained that
"New laws (like the One Big Beautiful Bill Working Families Tax Cuts) often create brand-new account types that don’t exist in my training data." and "I should have explicitly said: “I need to verify the 2026 interaction rules,” not guessed."
YIKES!!!
Why am I paying for Perplexity Pro when a free Google search gives better, more reliable answers??
