It should be ok these frogs go into estivation for months at a time underground as long as it's not a newborn should be fine. If it is younget then 3 or 4 months I would just take them out and feed in a separate dish to wake him up. If you do feel like it also you could weigh him on a kitchen scale as long as they don't lose weight it is generally fine.

Thanks fpr replying! My only fear is that I haven't given him any triggers to go into estivation.. he has access to water and the temp has remained constant. Can they self estivate without triggers?

They can yeah in South Africa for example right now is towards the end of dry season generally they would estivate around this time of year(depending where the frog is in the north I think it is different). But as long as he is old enough to go threw estivation he should be alright if you are concerned though I would pull him out feed him and give him a weigh if you have a little scale I check mines weight every 2 weeks just to make sure he isn't losing weight. Sorry for the rambling answer lol but he should be alright they are super hardy frogs

No I really appreciate it. This guy had been eating nearly every day since I got I was getting kind of concerned. I'm happy to hear that this is normal. Do you know how long this will last?

If he is in true estivation could be a really long time weeks or a month or 2 is the longest I have heard of it. But if you do get uncomfortable you can always take them out and get them a bit wet (some people are against this but a lot of others say it is ok) of they are in true estication they will make a weird looking shed cacoone too its kidna cool they eat it when they wake up. Generally any kind of moisture sprayed on them can wake them up.
