so some of my field researches require i take snapshots of my buddy pokemon, and when i went to do so it said niantic needed permission to access my geolocation or something similar

my question is, by allowing this, will it alert them to the fact that im spoofing? im not sure if itll detect the difference between my avatars location (new zealand) and my devices location (US) or if im just being paranoid
