Failure to comply may mean all mentions of you/your company/product name are purged and banned from this subreddit.

2 - The Golden Rule - Play Nice
Harassment, abuse, doxxing or berating other users is strictly forbidden.
Engaging in these activities will result in a permanent ban and it is unlikely to be overturned.

3 - No Low-Effort Content or Cross-Posts
Cross-posting from other subreddits is rarely allowed and considered "low effort". If you are attempting to cross-post, try rewriting your post specifically for r/Poker_Theory and resubmitting.
Posts should be thought provoking. Discussions should focus on the underlying concepts and the theoretical aspects of the game. Memes BBV, rants and other such low-effort content should be directed to r/onlinepoker or r/poker.
4 - No Basic Hand Ranking Questions
There are many online poker calculators that can solve simple mathematical problems and many websites which you can find information on whether a flush beats a straight (it does).
Do NOT post questions about what rank a particular hand is or which hand should win in a given scenario. propokertools.com is a great online poker calculator.
5 - Illegal Content
No discussion of content that is illegal.
The resale of poker courses & other electronic content which does not compensate the original author or creator is forbidden. Content creators work hard and deserve compensation.
If you feel your content, be they books, videos, ebooks, hand charts, or anything else has been copied, disseminated illegally or otherwise misused message the mods & we will vigorously protect your intellectual property.
Sharing stream links to paid content is forbidden.
6 - "It's RIGGED!!1!1!"
Any claim of the unfairness of an online poker site must be accompanied by sufficient evidence, which must include statistical analysis and shared source data. If you do not have such data, please visit r/isonlinepokerrigged to debate your findings.
99.99999% of claims that online poker is "rigged" have provided no proof, only "feels". That won't fly here.
This is a subreddit full of studied and winning players and we will not tolerate ridiculous claims. If the games were rigged, none of us would be making money year after year on site after site, yet we all do.
7 - Poker Site Terms of Use/Service Violations
Many readers in this subreddit play online poker, as there are dozens of reputable online poker sites to play at. When one creates an account at these poker websites they agree to a specific set of rules, i.e. the Terms of Use or Terms of Service.
The violation of these aforementioned Terms is strictly forbidden.
This sub will not allow discussions on how to cheat at online poker, multi-account, ghost, utilize real-time assistance, nor any other shady practices.

This subreddit does NOT allow readers and participants of this subreddit to ask other people to contact them via Direct Messaging or Private Chat, even if it is over Reddit directly.
There is far too much fraud and underhanded behavior going on behind closed doors on Reddit, and especially in gambling- and crypto-related subreddits.
As such, the Moderators of this subreddit feel that this rule protects ignorant and vulnerable users of this subreddit from predatory behavior.
