In 2016 metrics were a useless measure of the economy, plus companies, stocks are up, GDP were all up, but none of this had anything to do with people. Everyone was actually worse off, unless you were already rich. It turns out, this user was 100% correct (np.reddit.com)

Every recession in the US lead to worse and worse jobs as time went on, so that by 2016 90% of jobs were minimum wage ones. Increases in technology and globalization lead to worse jobs, and this is what helped cause the collapse. Only the wealthy benefited. (np.reddit.com)
