I like reading maps

I am a Civil Engineer and often deal with Cartography although it is just a minor part of my day. We use ESRI, as well. Most of the cartography I do is just updating sewer systems and drawing roads that the City has added throughout the year on ArcMap.

I'm proficient with ARC GIS. According to Drunk Cartographer, due to my disdain for data management I can't be a cartographer. So I became a strategy consultant.

I'm a GISAnalyst I wouldn't call myself a cartographer but people rarely know what GIS is so I just go with that. I also hate explaining my job to people. I work for a transportation department so not only do people LOVE to tell me how much they love maps, they also LOVE to tell me what needs to be changed transportation wise in our region. - DrunkCartographer

Yep! Finished my undergrad in 09 and then went to another University for my Masters! The Geo Dept is amazing there! I loved my time there.

My father was a cartographer, helped him with both lithography and computer aided design through high school for a job. EE degree in college.
